“Caucasus Online”, a telecommunication company operating in Georgia, is one of the major components of the Digital Silk Way and is a part of the NEQSOL Holding. Infrastructure of the “Caucasus Online” constitutes the European part of the Digital Silk Way project.

It should be noted, that the European part of the Digital Silk Way includes the fiber-optic infrastructure between Bulgaria and Georgia along the bottom of the Black Sea, which is owned and operated by “Caucasus Online”.

The Caucasus Cable system with the length of 1200 km ( constructed in 2008) has a capacity of transmitting 2 terabit/s. It is planned to increase the transmission capacity up to 16 terabit/s. It is estimated that with additional investment this capacity may reach 50 terabit/s traffic.
